1994 – Bill & Angie Sutherland (MA)

Square Dance Leaders

Bill and Angie Sutherland entered the wonderful world of square dancing in 1967 with the Fairtown Squares where they became President in 1973-74. Annual club anniversary celebrations became habit forming as they were involved with many. Out of their initial involvement they emerged as Vice Chainman of the New England Square and Round Dance Convention held in Danvers, Mass.

They owned and operated My Square Lady Square Dance Shop. They became President of the North Shore Square and Round Dance Association and moved on to become a Director of the Square Dance Foundation of New England also serving as Trustees. They have worked tirelessly on the maintenance, repairs and renovation of the Foundation buildings.

Bill and Angie are the type of people who give of themselves for the benefit of others. They have carried the square dance banner of promotion for over 20 years. Bill and Angie’s leadership style has been a hands on approach where they have led by example. We recognize their dedicated labor of love and hereby induct the Sutherland’s into New England‘s Hall of Fame.
